In “Rohto Group Comprehensive Management Vision 2030”, six business are defined as strategic domains: Dermatology (skin care), ophthalmology, functional foods, OTC drugs, regenerative medicine, and contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO).
Of these, dermatological business (skin care products), grew significantly recently, reflecting the company’s product development meeting customers’ needs and trends precisely, while the functional food business, which Rohto positions as the third pillar, has also expanded in last years especially through ophthalmic supplements with sales of 7.5 billion yen.
As these businesses are on a growth trajectory, Rohto has been able to make sufficient investment in ophthalmology, regenerative medicine, and CDMO businesses, from that Rohto expects future growth to generate profit.
